The Jest of It All - Speaking In Tongues.

I'm sure we've all heard of this and probably seen this in videos. It is a bit scary to watch though. Allegedly people can speak in tongues when consumed by the Holy Ghost or Spirit in a language that sounds more like demon possession. It is said that an interpreter must be present, or so I've been told. This mystical language, supposedly from the Heavens, Angel language perhaps?  One must remember that angels are on both sides, but we call the angels that followed Lucifer, along with the Fallen Angels a different title, devils and demons.

There is a reason that Jesus spoke in Parables and metaphors, evil cannot interpret it. For whatever reason, it must be a direct speak. Some things though are not hidden and the speaking in Tongues is one of them. So what is speaking in tongues? Native language and completely HUMAN. In this region of the world and at that time there were different languages, just like today. But how do we know this is what is referred to?

Genesis 10:19-21

King James Version (KJV)

19And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.

20These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.

21Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.

I highlighted the verse you need to know.  But wait, there's more...I highlighted that one too.

30And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.

31These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.

32These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.

And then this.........

Psalm 31:20

King James Version (KJV)

20Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

A little more current perhaps?

Revelation 11:9

King James Version (KJV)

9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
